U sklopu obilježavanja 125. godine osnutka najstarijeg muzeja u Istri, Zavičajnog muzeja Poreštine, u cilju valorizacije prapovijesnog nasljeđa porečkog kraja, u «Galeriji Sinčić» u Poreču, u 20 sati održat će se otvorenje izložbe naziva «Gradine prije grada» autora Davora Munde.
«Izloženi predmeti samo su mali dio ukupnog materijala koji je tijekom posljednjih 150 godina pronađen na ovom dijelu istarskog poluotoka i svjedoči o bogatoj materijalnoj i duhovnoj kulturi prapovijesnih naroda koji su živjeli na ovom području do dolaska Rimljana. Nažalost, burne političke prilike koje su tijekom 20. stoljeća obilježile istarsku povijest uzrokovale su preseljenje većeg dijela porečkog muzejskog fundusa u pulski («Arheološki muzej Istre») i tršćanski muzej («Gradski muzej Trst»). Većina predmeta koji se danas čuvaju u porečkom muzeju dio su grobnih cjelina otkrivenih i iskopanih krajem 19. i početkom 20. stoljeća podno gradina Picugi.» – navodi autor Davor Munda u katalogu izložbe. The exhibition “Citadels before Cities” by Davor Munda will be opened at 8 p.m. on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Poreč Region Local History Museum, the oldest Istrian museum, with the goal of appreciation of the prehistoric heritage of Poreč.
«The exhibits are just a small part of the collection of items found in this area of the Istrian peninsula during the past 150 years and who bear witness to the rich material and spiritual culture of the prehistoric peoples, inhabiting these parts before the arrival of the Romans. Unfortunately, the 20th century political turmoils in Istria caused the transfer of the larger part of the museum’s collection from Poreč to the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula and the Town Museum in Trieste. Most of the items that are nowadays kept at the museum in Poreč are in fact fragments of the sepulchres found and excavated at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century at the site of the Picugi citadel.», states the author Davor Munda in the exhibition’s catalogue.
