U Rovinju, unutar Studija «Golo Brdo» 25. srpnja u 20 sati održat će se otvaranje izložbe irske umjetnice Christine Mackey.
On the 25th of July at 8 p.m. the «Golo Brdo» Studio in Rovinj will host the opening of the exhibition by the Irish artist Christine Mackey.
Il 25 luglio, a Rovigno, negli spazi dello Studio «Golo Brdo», verrà aperta la mostra dell’artista irlandese Christine Mackey.
Christina radi i djeluje između Belfasta i pokrajine Leitrim u Irskoj.
U svojoj umjetničkoj praksi kombinira «site-specific» i intervencije u javnom prostoru, izložbe, performanse i umjetničke knjige.
Sudjelovala je na međunarodnim i nacionalnim rezidencijama u Argentini, Kostariki, Irskom muzeju moderne umjetnosti i «Firestation Artist Studios“ (Dublin), Indiji, Walesu, Finskoj, Grčkoj i Beču. Dobila je brojne nagrade od «Irskog umjetničkog savjeta», lokalnih vlasti, EV + A Limerick (glavna nagrada-2004.), Bank of Ireland Millennium stipendiju (2001), «Cultural Ireland and A.I.B Emerging Award» (u užem izboru 2004.) uključujući i stipendiju za istraživanje od strane Sveučilišta u Ulsteru.
Trenutačno radi na slijedećim projektima: «Drawing Spaces», Portugal, «Muzej suvremene umjetnosti» u Thessaloniki (Biennale), «Akademija likovnih umjetnosti» u Katovicama, Poljska i «Umjetnički centar» u Galway‑u.
Između ostalog priprema i doktorat na Ulsterskom sveučilištu u Belfastu, o crtanju kao spekulativnom području istraživanja gdje se vizualna komunikacija, razmjena i znanje isprepliću kao platforma za socijalno istraživanje. (I. R.)
Christine currently works in Belfast and the Province of Leitrim in Ireland. Her artistic expression unites site-specific works and interventions in public spaces, exhibitions, performances and books.
Mackey has participated in international and national residences in Argentina, Costarica, at the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the «Firestation Artist Studios» (Dublin), in India, Wales, Finland, Greece and Vienna. She has won a number of awards of the Irish Art Council and the local government,and the following prizes: EV+A Limerick (1st prize, 2004), Bank of Ireland Millenium Scholarship (2001), Cultural Ireland and A.I.B Emerging Award, including the research scholarship of the University in Ulster.
She is currently involved in several projects: «Drawing Spaces», Portugal, «Museum of Contemporary Art», Thessaloniki (Biennale), «The Academy of Visual Arts» in Katowice, Poland and the «Art Centre» in Galway.
Mackey is also working on her Ph.D. at the University of Ulster in Belfast. She researches drawing as an area of research speculation where the visual communication entwines with the exchange of knowledge in the form of a platform for social research.
