«Pulica», a programme for children organized within the framework of the 56th Pula Film Festival, will take place from the 13th to the 25th of  July. The programme comprises morning and evening screenings of feature and animated films and a very specific workshop.

From the 13th to the 25th of July the City library will host the workshop «Professor Balthasar’s Laboratory of Adventures». During the workshop children will have the opportunity to learn all the secrets of making an animated movie.

The participants will learn how to create a story, make the scenography by coloring and glueing different elements, handle the figures of the film’s characters and, finally, how tp shoot selected scenes. Short animated films will be created by using the technique of stop-animation.

The price of this workshop is 150 kuna, 200 kuna for two children from the same family, 300 kuna for three children from the same family.

Morning Performances for Children will take place from the 20th to the 25th of July, every day at 10 p.m. at the Grand Hall of the Istrian National Theatre. The programme includes screenings of films for children from all over the world.

The business is thriving but Gromit becomes worried because twelve bakers have already disappeared since last year…)

Tuesday, the 21st of July – «NOCTURNA», Spain, 2007, 83′; directed by: Adria Garcia, Victor Maldonado (Animated fantasy,winner of the «Goya» for the best animated film; about Tim, a boy who lives in an old orphanage)

Wednesday, the 22nd of July  – «THE BLUE SEAGULL», Yugoslavia, 1953, 91′; directed by: Branko Bauer (Adventures of Ivo, a boy who wants to pay off his father’s debts)

Thursday, the 23rd of July – «THE FOX AND THE CHILD», France, 2007, 92′; directed by: Luc Jacquet (Story about the nature and the friendship between a girl and a fox)

Friday, the 24th of July – «TALES FROM EARTHSEA», Japan, 2006, 115′; directed by: Goro Miyazaki (Animated fantasy about a alost archipelago – the Sealand)

Saturday, the 25th of July – «RED LIKE THE SKY», Italy, 2006, 96′; directed by: Cristiano Bortone (drama inspired by a true story of Mirco Mencacci, one of the most tallented Italian contemporary sound editors)

Saturday, the 18th of July, 10.15 p.m. – «THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ANIMAFEST» – a series of short animated films screened at the Animafest, world’s biggst festival of animated films

Wednesday, the 22nd of July – 9 p.m. – «TALES OF LONG AGO» – a series of awarded films inspired by beautiful stories by Ivana Brlić Mažuranić

Tuesday, the 21st of July, 11.15 p.m. – «HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE», GB, USA, 2009, 153′; directed by: David Yates, script: Steve Kloves, based on the novel by J. K. Rowling; cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith (Fantastic adventure of young wizards Harry, Rone adn Hermione who face new dangers triggered by the return of Lord Voldemort…)

Saturday, the 25th of July, 10 p.m. – «ICE AGE 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs»  – USA, 2009, 94′; directed by: Carlos Saldanha, Mike Thurmeier; script: Michael Berg, Peter Ackerman, Mike Reiss, Yoni Brenner, based on the story by Jason Carter Eaton (Animated comedy in 3D technique featuring sloth Sid, mammoth Manny, tiger Diego and the prehistorical squirell Scrat)
