Time: June 4 – July 5, 2010
Place: Turkey
The first biennale of contemporary art in Mardin represents an initiative to bring the international contemporary art to Turkish regions. Under the slogan „Contemporary art travels east“, the organizers are trying to move the place of art production from western Turkey (Istanbul, Ankara) to the eastern parts. The city of Mardin and its rich architectural heritage present the perfect meeting point and setting for presentation and exchange of artistic experiences.
Croatian artists Alen Floričić, Vlatka Horvat, Mladen Stilinović and Goran Škofić will display their works within the framework of the exhibition Abbara Kadabra. Curator Branka Benčić will also participate at the biennale as a guest of the board for cultural exchange and development of cooperational networks.
