Time: July 1, 2010
Place: St. Stephen Church, Labin
Throughout the summer, within the framework of the Labin Art Republic, St. Stephen Church will host weekly exhibitions of works by young artists and art students. On July 1, at 7 p.m. visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the opening of the exhibition „Writings“ by Noel Šuran. The exhibition includes a series of books/objects, inscriptions and interventions in colour (smears of mud, wine, strawberries…), which were created in graphic techniques and then inserted into covers of fish cans. These writings and inscriptions tell personal stories of citizens of Istria. The works itself represent the author’s relation to the regional culture and people that surround him. Noel Šuran was born in 1986 in Pula. He is a 4th year student at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, Deparment of Graphics. He lives in Lindar.
