Istrian artists nominated for Croatian Theatre Awards
Juries of the Croatian society of drama artists have annonced their nominations for this year’s Croatian Theatre Awards. The list includes numerous artists from Istria.
One of the nominated is the dance performance „Nastup“ by the Zagreb Studio for Modern Dance and its choreographer Matija Ferlin.
For their work on the play „Nastup“ the jury decided to nominate the stage desiger Mauricio Ferlina and dancers Roberta Milevoj and Ana Mrak.
Among other directors and actors, Robert Raponja, the director born in Pula who lives and works in Osijek, is nominated for his rendering of the play „Paralelni svjetovi“ by Miro Gavran, which is performed by the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek.
Vedran Živolić, the young actor from Pula, is competing in the cateory of exceptional realizations of young artists under the age of 28 for his role of Binat in the play „Garaža“ by Zdenko Mesarić. The play is directed by Ivica Buljan and staged by the Zagreb Youth Theatre.
Filip Križan from Fažana is nominated for the leading role in the children’s play „Mačak u čizmama“. The play is based on the work by Charles Perrault, directed by Ivica Boban and performed by the Town Theatre Žar ptica from Zagreb.
Ognjen Vučinić, the dancer from Pula who works in Zagreb, is competing for the title of the best dancer, for his performance in the play „UTF 8“ (choreographer: Sahar Azimi, produced and performed by Zagreb Dance Ensemble).
The award giving ceremony will take place on November 24 at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.
