U pulskom «Domu hrvatskih branitelja» (DHB) 28. rujna 2009. s početkom u 21 sat koncert će održati Uri Cane, jedan od naznačajnijih pijanista i skladatelja današnjice (Grammy nominacija 2009.) koji će se pulskoj publici predstaviti svojim svjetski poznatim «Bedrock trijom».
Njima će se pridružiti i izvrsna philadephijska pjevačica Barbara Walker.
On the 28th of September at 9 p.m. the DHB in Pula will host the concert of Uri Caine, one of the most important contemporary pianists and composers (Grammy nomination, 2009). He will perform with his renowned Bedrock Trio and Barbara Walker, excellent singer from Philadelphia.
Il 28 settembre, alle ore 21, alla «Casa dei difensori croati», si esibirà in concerto Uri Caine, uno dei pianisti e compositori contemporanei più importanti (dominazione per il Grammy nel 2009), accompagnato dal suo famoso «Bedrock trio».
A questi si unirà anche l’eccellente cantante Barbara Walker di Philadelphia.

Uri Caine iz Philadephie, profesionalno se počeo baviti glazbom početkom ‘80. ‑ih kada odlazi u New York.
Snimio je 19 albuma kao vođa sastava, a proslavila ga je inventivna i eklektična jazz interpretacija majstora klasike kao što su Mahler, Bach, Beethoven, Wagner, Schumann i Mozart.
Početkom novog milenija pokreće sa bubnjarom Zachom Danzigerom originalni fusion projekt «Uri Caine Bedrock 3» koji isprepliće jungle i drum ‘n’ bass sa jazzom. Uz mnoge glazbenike koji su sudjelovali na tri dosad objavljena albuma Uri Caineovog Bedrocka, Barbara Walker zauzima posebno mjesto.
Godine 2001. u suradnji sa bubnjarom Ahmir «Questlove» Thompsonom («The Roots») i Christianom McBrideom snima izvrsni jazz-funk, instrumental hip hop, fusion album «The Philadelphia Experiment».
Osim toga, Caine se dohvatio i kompozicija Johna Zorna, jednog od najproduktivnijih skladatelja i predstavnika Down Town scene, te je 2006. snimio album «Moloch: Book of Angels Volume 6».
U neizmjerno blistavoj karijeri (direktor venecijanskog bijenala za glazbu 2003.; nastupi s najvećim svjetskim orkestrima) Caine je surađivao i sa glazbenicima kao što su Don Byron, Dave Douglas, John Zorn, Terry Gibbs, Buddy DeFranco, Clark Terry, Rashid Ali, Arto Lindsay, Sam Rivers i drugima.

Uri Caine, musician from Philadelphia, started to professionally engage in music at the beginning of 1980s, when he moved to New York. He has recorded 19 albums as the leader of the band and became famous for his inventive and eclectic jazz interpretations of classical composers such as Mahler, Bach, Beethoven, Wagner, Schumann and Mozart.
At the beginning of the new millennium, along with the drummer Zach Danziger, Caine founded the original fusion project «Uri Caine 3», which unites jungle, drum’n’bass and jazz. Numerous musicians have contributed to the three albums of the Uri Caine Bedrock Trio, but cooperations with Barbara Walker were the most significant. In cooperation with the drummer Ahmir Questlove Thompson («The Roots») and Christian McBride Uri Caine recorded the marvellous jazz-funk, instrumental hip hop, fusion album «The Philadelphia Experiment» in 2001.
Caine also set out to interpret compositions by John Zorn, one of the most prolific composers and the representative of the Down Town scene, and in 2006 he recorded the album titled «Moloch: Book of Angels Volume 6.
