Dana 8. srpnja 2010., s početkom u 20:00 sati u Muzeju grada Zagreba, otvoriti će se izložba Povijesnog muzeja Istre pod nazivom “Fotografija u Istri do 1918. iz fundusa Zbirke fotografija, negativa i fotografske opreme”, koja po prvi puta predstavlja dio fundusa te pulske zbirke. Izložba je nastala u povodu obilježavanja 170. obljetnice otkrića fotografije na ideju autorice Lane Skuljan. Začetci istarske fotografije vežu se uz dvojicu fotografa koji su djelovali 1860-ih, fotografa amatera Luigija Caenazza i začetnika profesionalne fotografije Luigija Mionija. Specifičnost Istre je mornarička fotografija, jer je svaki profesionalni fotograf, kao civilna osoba, morao dobiti odobrenje za snimanje pulske luke i brodova koje je izdavao Mornarički odsjek pri carskom Ministarstvu rata. Fotografiju u Istri obilježio je i Fotografski odjel Carskog i kraljevskog Mornaričko-tehničkog odbora u sklopu kojega su nastajale dokumentarno-reportažne fotografije. Izložba ostaje otvorena do 31. kolovoza 2010.

On July 8, at 8 p.m. Zagreb City Museum will host the opening of the exhibition „Photography in Istria up to 1918 from the holdings of the Collection of Photographs, Negatives and Photographic Equipment“. The exhibition is ideated by Lana Skuljan and organized on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the invention of photography. The beginnings of Istrian photography are linked to two photographers who worked during the 1860’s: Luigi Caenzzo, the amateur photographer, and Luigi Mioni, the founder of professional photography.
Naval photography was a particular feature of Istrian photography, which made it distinct from that in the rest of Croatia. Every professional photographer, who was by definition a civilian, had to get a permit to take pictures of Pula port issued by the naval section of the War Ministry.
Photography in Istria was particularly characterised by the work of the photographic section of the naval engineering committee, under the aegis of which many photographs of the documentary/ reportage genre were created.
The exhibition will be on view until August 31, 2010.
Giovedì, 08 luglio 2010, nel museo della città di Zagabria con inizio alle ore 20:00 si terrà la mostra “Fotografija u Istri do 1918. iz fundusa Zbirke fotografija, negativa i fotografske opreme” (La fotografia in Istria fino il 1918) organizzata dal Museo storico dell’Istria. In quest’occasione per la prima volta verrà presentata una parte della collezione delle fotografie di Pola.
La mostra è stata promossa da Lana Skuljan per celebrare i 170 anni dalla nascita dell’arte fotografica. Le foto che verranno presentate alla mostra vengono associate a due fotografi che operavano intorno al 1860 ovvero, il fotografo dilettante Luigi Caenazzo e uno dei pionieri della fotografia professionale, Luigi Mioni. La specificità dell’Istria è la foto marinaresca, in quanto a quel tempo ogni fotografo per poter fotografare il porto e le barche di Pola doveva avere un permesso prescritto dal Dipartimento della marina. La mostra rimarrà aperta fino il 31 agosto 2010.
