BaRoMus, the 5th festival of baroque music in Rovinj, will once again be hosted by the Saint Francis Church in the period from the 19th of June to the 11th of July 2009.
The festival’s guests are the greatest Croatian and international musicians, such as Stjepan Hauser, Paola Erdas, Elena Casoli and Matija Dedić. Among the musicians specialized for the music of older periods there are also performers of a new generation. Their approach to the baroque music is slightly different and it includes  personal aesthetic ambitions which provide a new insight into the musical heritage of the past times. For this reason, the festival slogan is «Baroque: yesterday – today – tomorrow». It announces the sole concept of the festival which tends to unite the past, the present and the future, by means of improvization, interpretation, research and creation.

Festivalski program započinje 19. lipnja, nastupom Matije Dedića (piano) i Željka Kovačevića (sax), koji će se predstaviti programom naslovljenim «Musica sacra antiqua croatorum». Slijede nastupi talijanskog ansambla «Baschensis» (25. lipnja), lutnjista Fra Antuna Mrzlečkog (30. lipnja), violončelista Stjepana Hausera (04. srpnja), čelistice Paole Erdas i svirača table Shyamal mantre (07. srpnja) i Elene Casoli za gitarom (09. srpnja). Koncertni program zaključuju članovi poznatog zagrebačkog kvarteta saksofona (11. srpnja).
Svi koncerti održat će se u crkvi Sv. Franje s početkom u 21 sat.

Osim koncerata, u sklopu festivala, na rovinjskom otoku Sv. Andrije, održat će se  02. srpnja u 22 sata i cjelovečernja projekcija video radova «Baroque between times», istaknutog austrijskog video umjetnika Clausa Bruna Schneidera, nastalih prilikom njegove suradnje s BaRoMus – om. I.R.
