U bivšoj tvornici duhana u Rovinju održati će se koncert slavnog George Benson. Glazbenik je višestruki dobitnik Grammyja, jedan od najpoznatijih pop i R&B pjevača i vrhunski jazz gitarist. Uz svjetski poznate hitove Give Me the Night, Turn Your Love Around, Greatest Love of All, Masquerade, On Brodeway i hitove publika će moći uživat 8. Srpnja 2011. godine. Benson je prvi na području jazza ostvario platinastu nakladu surađivao s čuvenim glazbenicima raznih žanrova, među ostalima s Clausom Ogermanom, McCoyjem Tynerom, Joeom Farrellom, Earlom Klughom i Alom Jarreaom za svoje glazbeno stvaralaštvo primio je niz priznanja i nagrada te je dobitnik titule Jazz Master koju mu je dodijelila institucija National Endowment of the Arts, što je najviše priznanje u svijetu jazz glazbe.
The former Tobacco Factory in Rovinj will host the concert of the famous George Benson, the winner of several Grammy Awards, one of the most renowned pop and R&B singers and the top-notch jazz guitarist. On July 8 the audience will have the opportunity to hear his hit singles: Give me the night, Turn your love around, Greatest love of all, Masquerade, On Broadway. Benson was the first jazz musician with a platinum album. He has worked with famous musicians from different genres, such as Claus Ogerman, McCoy Tyner, Joe Farrell, Earl Klugh and Al Jarreau. Benson has received a number of awards and recognitions and was pronounced the Jazz Master by the National Endowment of the Arts, which is the highest recognition in the world of jazz music.
Venerdì, 08 luglio 2011, negli spazi dell’ex manifattura tabacchi alle ore 21:00, in occasione dell’Avantgarde Jazz Festival a Rovigno, si terrà il concerto del celebre chitarrista e cantante statunitense George Benson.
George Benson, più volte vincitore del premio “Grammy”, ha cominciato la propria carriera all’età di 21 anni come chitarrista jazz. Tuttavia, è noto presso il grande pubblico soprattutto come cantante di musica pop e R&B grazie a dei grandi successi tra cui „Give Me The Night“, „Lady Love Me“ (One More Time), „Turn Your Love Around“, „In Your Eyes“, „Love X Love“, „Being With You“ e „This Masquerade“. George Benson è ricordato dai jazzofili anche come abile utilizzatore dello “scat”, una tecnica che permette di creare vocalizzi che imitano gli assoli jazz suonati con la chitarra.
Vanta collaborazioni con straordinari musicisti d’ogni genere musicale, tra i quali vanno menzionati Claus Ogerman, McCoy Tyner, Joe Farrell, Earl Klugh e Al Jarreau . Per la sua produzione artistica è stato premiato con il titolo di “Jazz Master”, il massimo riconoscimento internazionale nel mondo del jazz, assegnatogli dal National Endowment of the Arts.
