Od 10. do 12. srpnja ove godine u Žejanama i Šušnjevici održavat će se znanstveni skup pod nazivom «Dani vlaškog ili žejanskog jezika». Konferenciju organiziraju Etnografski muzej Istre te Udruga «Tragovi» u sklopu projekta «Očuvanje vlaškog ili žejanskog jezika». Uz predavanja o kulturnom nasljeđu i jeziku Vlaha, koja će domaći i strani znanstvenici održati na hrvatskom, rumunjskom i engleskom jeziku, posjetioci će moći uživati i u kulturnom programu folklornih društava.
From the 10th to the 12th of July 2009 Istrian villages of Žejane and Šušnjevica will host the scientific conference titled «Days of Vlach Language or Languge of Žejane». The assembly has been organized by the Etnography Museum of Istria and the «Tragovi» Association, within the framework of the project named «Preservation of the Vlach Language or Language of Žejane». Croatian and foreign experts will deliver lectures on the cultural heritage and the language of Vlachs in three languges: Croatian, English and Romanian. The guests of the conference will also have the opportunity to enjoy the folklore programme.
Otvaranje skupa održat će se 10. srpnja u 17 sati u prostorijama Područne škole Žejane. U 17.30 sati uslijedit će predstavljanje projekta «Očuvanje vlaškog ili žejanskog jezika», a u 18.30 sati će akademik August Kovačec održati uvodno izlaganje.
Program će se nastaviti u subotu, kad će s početkom u 10.30 sati Vasile Frăţilă održati predavanje na rumunjskom jeziku pod nazivom «Porijeklo Istrorumunja: Činjenice i pretpostavke».
U 11 sati uslijedit će još jedno predavanje na rumunjskom jeziku; Richard Sârbu će iznijeti saznanja o trenutnom stanju istrorumunjskog jezika.
U 12 sati će Goran Filipi sa Sveučilišta u Puli održati predavanje pod nazivom «Nove gramatičke kategorije u istrorumunjskom», a u 14.30 sati će uslijediti izlaganje na engleskom jeziku Elene Potoroaca o očuvanju istrorumunjskog kroz tradiciju.
U 15 sati će na engleskom jeziku Kleanti Anovska iz Instituta za folklor «Marko Cepenkov» govoriti o folklornom nasljeđu Vlaha, a u 16 sati će uslijediti predavanje Petra Atanasova o statusu meglenorumunjskog i njegovoj sličnosti s istrorumunjskim jezikom.
U 18 sati posjetitelji će imati priliku uživati u kulturnom programu Folklornog društva «Žejanski zvončari» i KUD‑a «Učka» pod nazivom «Zatancajmo i zakantajmo va Žejanah».
12. srpnja skup će se nastaviti u prostorijama Područne škole Šušnjevica. U 13.30 sati Zvjezdana Vrzić će govoriti o pisanju vlaškog ili žejanskog jezika, dok će u 14 sati Petru Neiescu održati predavanje na rumunjskom pod nazivom «O standardizaciji istrorumunjskog».
U 15 sati uslijedit će izlaganje Lidije Nikočević iz Etnografskog muzeja Istre pod nazivom «Fluidni identiteti: Odnosi između etničkih grupa i nacionalnih država», a u 15.30 će Irena Kolbas iz Etnografskog muzeja Zagreb govoriti o muzealizaciji jezika Hrvatske.
U 16 sati će se održati završne riječi skupa, a nakon kulturnog programa, s početkom u 17 sati, uslijedit će i zatvaranje skupa.

The conference begins on the 10th of July at 5 p.m. at the School in Žejane. At 5.30 p.m. the programme will continue with the presentation of the project «Preservation of Vlach Language or Language of Žejane» and the academician August Kovačec will give the introductory lecture at 6.30 p.m.
On the 11th of July at 10.30 a.m. Vasile Frăţilă will deliver a lecture titled «The Origins of the Istro-Romanians: Facts and Hypotheses».
At 11 a.m. Richard Sârbu will present the findings on the current state of Istro-Romanian language.
At noon Goran Filipi from the University in Pula will deliver the lecture «New grammatical categories in Istro-Romanian», and at 12.30 p.m. the programme will continue with the exposition in English by Elena Potoroaca on the preservation of Istro-Romanian through tradition.
At 3 p.m. Kleanti Anovska from the Folklore Institute «Marko Cepenkov» will talk about the folklore heritage of Vlachs, and at 4 p.m. Petar Atanasov will present a lecture on the status of Megleno-Romanian language and its similarity to Istro-Romanian.
At 6 p.m. the visitors will have the opportunity to see the performance titled «Let’s Dance and Sing in Žejane» by the Folklore Society «Žejanski zvončari» and the KUD «Učka» .
On the 12th of July the conference will move to the School in Šušnjevica. At 1.30 p.m. Zvjezdana Vrzić will talk about the ways of writing the Vlach language and at 2 p.m. Petru Neiescu will give a lecture in Romanian titled «About the Standardization of Istro-Romanian».
At 3 p.m. Lidija Nikočević from the Etnography Museum of Istria will deliver a lecture titled «Fluid identities: The Relations between the Ethnic Groups and National States» and at 3.30 p.m. Irena Kolbas from the Etnographic Museum Zagreb will talk about the musealisation of the languages in Croatia.
At 4 p.m. the final words will be said, and at 5 p.m., after the cultural programme, the conference will be closed.
