Ove će godi­ne na 16. Sajmu knji­ga u pro­gra­mu Suton uz knji­gu te na Doručku s auto­rom gos­to­va­ti nizo­zem­ski prav­nik, povjes­ni­čak, soci­olog, novi­nar i pisac, Geert Mak.

Njegovo naj­poz­na­ti­je dje­lo U Europi: puto­va­nje kroz dva­de­se­to sto­lje­će, kom­bi­na­ci­ja je europ­skih puto­pi­sa i povi­jes­ti dva­de­se­tog sto­lje­ća Staroga kontinenta.
U stu­de­nom 2007. godi­ne otpo­če­la je ekra­ni­za­ci­ja nje­go­ve knji­ge In Europa na nizo­zem­skoj tele­vi­zi­ji, seri­ja­la od 35 epi­zo­da povi­jes­ti Europe proš­lo­ga sto­lje­ća. Godine 2008. dobio je Nagradu za europ­sko razu­mi­je­va­nje na Leipziškom saj­mu knji­ga. Geert Mak aktiv­no sudje­lu­je u jav­nim disku­si­ja­ma u Nizozemskoj kao bra­ni­telj vri­jed­nos­ti otvo­re­no­ga i tole­rant­nog društva.

Geert Mak, the Dutch lawyer, his­to­ri­an, soci­olo­gist, jour­na­list and wri­ter, will be the guest of the pro­grams Sunset with a book and Breakfast with the aut­hor of the 16th Pula Book Fair.

His most famo­us work, the book „In Europe: Travels thro­ugh the twen­ti­eth cen­tury“, is a com­bi­na­ti­on of European tra­vel books and the 20th cen­tury his­tory of Europe.

In November 2007 a Dutch TV sta­ti­on star­ted to sho­ot 35 epi­so­des based on the afo­re­men­ti­oned book. In 2008 Mak was awar­ded the Award for European under­stan­ding at the Leipzig Book Fair. Geert Mak acti­vely par­ti­ci­pa­tes in public deba­tes in the Netherlands as the defen­der of the valu­es of the open-min­ded and tole­rant society.

Alla XVI edi­zi­one del­la fiera del libro di Pola (Sa(n)jam kni­ge u Istri), duran­te i pro­gram­mi “Suton uz knji­gu” (Crepuscolo con il libro) e “Doručak s auto­rom” (Colazione con l’autore), sarà ospi­te l’avvocato, sto­ri­co, soci­olo­go, gior­na­lis­ta e scrit­to­re olan­de­se Geert Mak.


La sua ope­ra più conos­ci­uta “In Europa: viag­gio nel ven­te­si­mo seco­lo” può veni­re con­si­de­ra­ta come una com­bi­na­zi­one tra rac­con­ti di viag­gi e la sto­ria recen­te del vec­c­hio continente.


Nel novem­bre del 2007 è ini­zi­ato a veni­re tra­sme­sso in Olanda l’adattamento tele­vi­si­vo del suo libro che van­ta 35 epi­so­di. Nel 2008 ha vin­to il Premio per la com­pren­si­one Europea duran­te il fes­ti­val del libro di Lipsia. Geert Mak par­te­ci­pa atti­va­men­te a dis­cu­ssi­oni pub­blic­he in Olanda come sos­te­ni­to­re dei valo­ri del­la soci­età aper­ta e tollerante.
